Here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.
• TMZ moron pesters Wayne Gretzky about, of all things, hockey fighting. Sadly, no McSorley run-in. [TMZ]
Preview: Philadelphia Flyers at Boston Bruins, 7 p.m. ET. No Lucic for the Bruins, who will face Jody Shelley for the first time since sending Adam McQuaid into the end boards and getting suspended for two games. Meanwhile, Flyers fans and media are looking for a name for the line of Scott Hartnell, Ville Leino and Danny Briere. Guess the "Two Guys The Majority of People Outside the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area Can't [Expletive] Stand and Ville Leino" Line didn't stick. Watch the Game Live Via Hockey Night on Y!
Preview: Ottawa Senators at New York Islanders, 7 p.m. ET. It's the great AHL excitement infusion! In the lineup is Corey Locke, 26, will make his NHL debut, (Ed. Note: No it isn't.) as will goalie Robin Lehner, the team's 19-year-old keeper of the future. Silver Sevens is wondering if Dany Heatley was right about the Sens after all.
Preview: Edmonton Oilers at San Jose Sharks, 10 p.m. ET. Lost in much of this "what the hell is wrong with the Sharks" chatter is that Joe Pavelski hasn't played in eight games. He's back against the Oil, and was asked if the Sharks rushed him back to compensate for the loss of Logan Couture: "No ... everyone said that's not the deciding factor right now. When it's ready, we're going to go." Watch the Game Live Via Hockey Night on Y!
Preview: Toronto Maple Leafs at Phoenix Coyotes, 9 p.m. ET. The Leafs are trying to sweep a 4-game road trip for the first time in eight seasons. And we've got two good reasons why they won't: "Lee" and "Stempniak."

• "The Leafs have traded Mikhail Stefanovich, future Dynamo Minsk second liner and ECHL pro, for Dallas' AHL property Fabian Brunnstrom." [PPP]
• Chris Botta of FanHouse makes the case that a goalie is going to snap and destroy someone attempting a spin-o-rama in the shootout: "It may cost his team a point in the standings. It may cost the goaltender some money, but it will have been worth it. How much longer are goalies going to put up with this? It's bad enough to "lose" a game after keeping a game tied after 65 minutes. Now they have to be subjected to being part of a viral video that ends with them face-first on the ice and a puck in the back of their net?" [FanHouse]
• Check out this story on the awesomely named Guy Dupuis, a former Detroit Red Wings pick who is about to play his 1,000th game with the Fort Wayne Komets. [WANE]
• An analysis of the Dallas Stars: "I'm far too lazy to calculate some BS stat delineating 'Bang For The Buck' --which, incidentally, was my nickname in college-- but a cursory glance at the improvement in this group of seven from last season to this tells you all you need to know about why they're third overall in the Western Conference right now." [Pegasus News]
• Finally, check out Mirtle's list of the top defensive forwards this season. Gregory Campbell second? Prepare for that angry Hockey Dad email, James. [Globe & Mail]
Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: From Dan on our Sedins fighting post:
Forget fighting, they should meet in the hallway during intermission, switch jerseys, and come out with the other team for the second period.
Damn that's a good idea.
Bold Prediction: Clemmensen wins for the Panthers while Vokoun watches from pine.
