UPDATE: The deal is completed, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Broncos receive a sixth-round draft pick as compensation.
Help is on the way, Sam Bradford.
Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd will be traded from the Denver Broncos to the 0-5 St. Louis Rams, according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday.
There's no word on what the Broncos will receive as compensation, but a late-round draft pick would seem to be a reasonable assumption. Lloyd's contract expires after this year, which limits his trade value, and the Rams won't trade away good players for Lloyd, because they don't have any.

Thumbs up to the Broncos, as they get a little bit of value for an asset that they were going to lose anyway. Lloyd was the favorite target of Kyle Orton, and Orton's no longer the starting quarterback in Denver. Now that Tim Tebow's under center, the receivers probably don't matter as much.
As for the Rams, watching them play, it couldn't be more clear that they need a quality wide receiver. Coming off a Pro Bowl year, Lloyd is still that. This should work for both sides. They've got a quality young quarterback in Sam Bradford, and they've been sending him out to the field with Mike Sims-Walker and Brandon Gibson. No disrespect intended to those gentlemen, but they're not No. 1 receivers. Lloyd comes in and is reunited with Josh McDaniels, the offensive coordinator in St. Louis who served as the offensive coordinator in Lloyd's career-best year.
It should become official by the end of the day.
