After months of negotiating, the Pac-10 is finally set to announce a new television deal with ESPN and Fox worth a whopping $2.7 billion over 12 years, and that "whopping" comes straight from the Sports Business Journal, so the emphasis is warranted. (I can't even fit $2,700,000,000 on my calculator.) If accurate, that works out to $225 million per year ? $18.75 million per school after Colorado and Utah expand membership to an even dozen later this year ? or about five times what the conference earns in its current deal with ABC/ESPN and Fox. How the Pac-12 Network figures into the equation is a little muddled, but a $2.7 billion deal dwarfs the $1.86 billion contract the ACC signed with ESPN earlier this year, and easily puts the Pac-10/12 in Big Ten/SEC territory for elite earning power.

For at least the second time this spring, ex-mega recruit Seantrel Henderson was forced to deny rumors that he was looking to transfer from Miami, this time in response to hometown chatter that he's "unhappy" after finishing the spring as a backup and may transfer to Minnesota "for family reasons." Henderson, voted a freshman All-American last your after starting 10 games under ousted head coach Randy Shannon, told the Miami Herald he "wasn't surprised" that he was listed behind Malcolm Bunche at left tackle on the final post-spring depth chart because he'd "been playing with a hip injury for a while." His father, Sean ? while still clearly pointing toward an early exit for the NFL in two years ? also reiterated that his son will "definitely finish his career at the U." [Miami Herald]

Elsewhere, Henderson's old high school teammate, Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd, pled not guilty Monday morning to the drunk driving charge that's keeping his senior season in the air, but Floyd's lawyer said he expects his client to reach a plea bargain before his next court date on June 7. "I suspect we'll come up with a resolution. At the present time I don't anticipate this is going to be set for trial," said attorney William Stanley. In other legal news, Oregon coach Chip Kelly has suspended linebacker Kiko Alonso indefinitely for the second year in a row after Alonso was charged over the weekend with first degree burglary, first degree criminal trespass and second degree criminal mischief. Alonso was suspended for the entire 2010 season for picking up a DUI charge last February, a few hours after Kelly had laid down the law for the entire team in the wake of three other player arrests in the span of a few weeks. Early-enrolling Oklahoma freshman Marquis Anderson, 18, was arrested on a petty larceny complaint Saturday after allegedly trying to shoplift clothes from a Dillard's at Norman's Sooner Mall.
