Few young players impressed as much as the Clippers' Blake Griffin and the Timberwolves' Kevin Love during the 2010-11 season. Both were All-Stars, both averaged at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per game, and both appear ready to become among the best power forwards in the league for the next decade. We are privileged to watch them and should savor every one of their battles against each other.
That goes for off the court, too. So, please, watch the clip above of Griffin and Love engaging in two spirited Jenga contests while behind the scenes at The ESPYs, set to air on ESPN on Wednesday night. They both take it somewhat seriously, displaying the same determination and athleticism that makes them succeed on the basketball court. Except, in this case, they don't need to jump over people or wrestle a strong opponent for a rebound. Still, keeping a steady hand and withdrawing a small block requires its own special abilities.
I won't tell you who won, because that would spoil the surprise. And, let's face it, we're not likely to see these two in competition for quite some time. We have to savor this excitement while we can.
