Some weekday evenings, theStewlooks at a few approaching games that will be worth monitoring. Feel free to discuss the night's happenings in the comments below.
Cardinals at Pirates, 7:05 ET: Ever since my first visit to PNC Park, I've said the only thing holding it back from being my favorite ballpark was the lack of a competitive team and sellout crowds. But with the Buccos leading the NL Central, AT&T Park ? my current favorite ? now has reason to be nervous. PNC is an absolute gem and its cozy confines are only enhanced by the excitement of the home team playing winning baseball. Though tonight's game is being threatened with rain, three sell-out crowds are expected as the Cards come to town trailing the Pirates by a single game in the standings. They'll meet 13 more times this season.
Braves at Reds, 7:10: They're still only four down in the division, but it's getting to be put up or shut up time for Cincinnati. Luckily they get Jair Jurrjens coming off his worst start of the season ? six runs in five innings against Washington last Sunday.
Brewers at Giants, 10:15: Lest you forget, the Crew is tied with the Pirates atop the NL Central. But a tough series by the Bay awaits.
Mets at Marlins, 7:10: Welcome back, David Wright.
Padres at Phillies, 7:05: If watching Cole Hamels work weren't enough reason, both teams will be wearing these great throwback uniforms. (h/t @meechone).
White Sox at Indians, 7:05: Ozzie Guillen says his team is one day "good", three days "bad". Which will it be tonight?
