Video: Wilt Chamberlain scores 100 points in a single NBA game

On March 2, 1962, Philadelphia Warriors center Wilt Chamberlain dropped an even hundred points on the New York Knicks. Fifty years later, no player has even come close to the NBA's top in-game scoring mark. As a celebration of sorts, NBA TV will be showcasing a documentary at 7 ET on Friday night, celebrating the late Chamberlain's accomplishment. Here's a brief snippet:

We've discussed the record at length here at BDL two times, once in reference to Kobe Bryant's 81-point outburst against Toronto in 2006, and another time ... well, in reference to Kobe Bryant's 81-point outburst against Toronto in 2006. In my eyes, because of the way Wilt got his 100 (his Philly team kept him on the court in a blowout, fouling New York down the stretch to earn Chamberlain extra chances at buckets), Bryant's 81 in what was a competitive game against the Raptors with far fewer possessions is an accomplishment on the level with Wilt's. But we'll let history, and our comment section, decide for sure.
