Ridiculous results are often the norm from baseball's annual photo day, but it's rare that we get a behind-the-scenes look at the ridiculous lengths photographers go to obtain them. The New York Yankees, for example, were summoned into a Steinbrenner Field bathroom on Monday and told to say cheese while they fought off odors of urinal cake. (It still had to smell better than the concourse of old Yankee Stadium, though.)
Of course, it had to be Alex Rodriguez in this shot that pulled back the curtain on photo day magic, didn't it? And despite this being far from the most ridiculous instruction A-Rod has ever received from a photographer, we're guessing the guy who snapped this pic and pushed it out on the wire? AP photog Matt Slocum ? will still be ritually sacrificed by the Yankees PR staff come Tuesday morning.
So have at it, amateur Internet copy editors of the world. How should this caption read?
