• Who are you wearing? Charissa Thompson was part of the Yahoo! team in the desert this week, and reports back with everything you could possibly want to know about Oregon's day-glo uniforms for tonight's game:
That's all very nice, but all of Nike's efforts will be upstaged again by Duck receiver D.J. Davis: For the second straight game, Davis will wear a photo of Declan Sullivan, the Notre Dame student who was killed when the hydraulic lift from which he was filming Irish practice toppled over in high winds on Oct. 27, in his belt. That's not because Davis has any connection to Sullivan or Notre Dame, but simply because the tragic accident hit home: "I went home and the thought resonated in my mind," Davis said. "I have a little brother that is 20 years old. I just kept thinking about my little brother being in that type of situation and I don't know what I would be able to do if I lost him in some tragic event." [USA Today]
• It was obvious, because they were only asking $2,000 apiece. Glendale police have arrested at least eight people on felony charges for selling fake tickets to the game, uncovering some 200 counterfeits in their hotel rooms. There are certainly more fakes floating around than that, though: Seats are still going for thousands, and even the reliable online brokers oversold tickets they weren't able to obtain, making tonight one of the most expensive tickets in sports history. [Al.com]
• Just a routine surge, is all. Auburn has spent the entire month since tonight's matchup was set as a three-point favorite in Vegas, but after some late movement in Oregon's direction over the weekend, the line going into the game has the Ducks getting between 1½ and 3 points, depending on where you look. There 's no significant injury news on either side, the likely absence of Oregon's backup quarterback, Nate Costa, who didn't take a meaningful snap all year. So make of that what you will. [Rivals]
• Are you ready to rock and/or roll? Auburn fans arrived in Glendale in force over the weekend, including this man and this woman and everyone who showed up at Sunday's official pep rally. But did the Tigers' pep rally include former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach goofing around with the head coach?
No? Pregame festivities go to the Ducks. [The Oregonian, Birmingham News, War Eagle Reader]
Quickly... Looking at the backup quarterbacks, heaven forbid there's a repeat of last year. ... Shockingly, ex-Oregon players like the Ducks' chances. ... And Under Armour may be counting on Auburn to "Protect This House," but Nike's setting Oregon up to just do this whole freaking mountain.
